Sin É

Location:
Richmond VA, America

Richmond, Virginia got its own modern traditional Irish bar that is reflective of the new dynamic Ireland. The bar is sited within an old tobacco store and good use was made of the splendid ceiling heights. The bar is set off the wall with a feature raised area used for dining set behind the bar. Bespoke copper and stainless steel harps support the curved section of the back bar. A double height natural stone wall was constructed by Irish stone masons using stone shipped directly from Ireland passes through an existing opening in the floor and leads you down to the toilets. The ceilings are adorned with hand painted murals depicting the story of the Táin, which tells of a war against Ulster by the Connacht queen Medb and her husband Ailill, who intend to steal the stud bull Donn Cuailnge, opposed only by the teenage Ulster hero Cúchulainn. Bric-a-brac is dotted around the bar and is depictive of different Irish themes such as music and literature.
