The Forum Off License

Client:
Nextdoor/ Forum
Location:
Waterford City

The Next Door, Forum Waterford off-licence is the first ‘superstore’ in the VFI’s Next Door off-license franchise. The brief was to design a store that offers a range of products to satisfy modern customers who are ‘cash rich but time poor’. Large feature windows to the front façade maximise the light and appeal to the passing trade. Design features include curved walnut shelving to allow customer flow throughout the store, with the base shelves halo lit with LED’s to give a floating effect. The feature wine display is bespoke, freestanding stainless steel shelving, set out from the wall to highlight the exposed stonework. Wine is displayed in grape varieties as opposed to countries of origin. The beer coolers are clad in stainless steel with neon signage; they are fed from the back by a 40 sq. meter cold room allowing for easy stock rotation. Central to the shop is the oval cash desk, clad in walnut, corian top and build-in display it gives the employees maximum vision throughout the store.
