Our brief was to refurbish an existing French restaurant to provide for seating for 60 guests in a sophisticated and elegant setting. The restaurant is located in the basement of a Georgian building and it was a key element of the brief to highlight the features of the property, namely the existing vaulted rooms and the large open hearth fireplace. The inviting pre-dining bar features a large open hearth fireplace. The central feature of the main dining area is a large exotic aquarium, which divides the dining area, an echo to the fact that the restaurant specializes in seafood. Materials used to provide a comfortable dining setting are rich in texture and appearance. A feature tiled centerpiece to the floor provides an accent to the timber flooring. One of the most important elements of the design is the large Art Nouveau style shaded lamp, which are the signature piece for the identity of the restaurant.
