Kajjal is part of a new mixed use residential area of Malahide. This restaurant is a fusion of Pakistan and Eastern Cuisine. The design was based around the Jeremy Cole Light. The layout was developed around an awkward wedge shaped plan with extensive glazing on one side. The mix of dark woods and high quality finishes creates an inviting atmosphere, with feature light boxes and textured surfaces creating interesting shadows and highlights. This corner site features a large shop front, but clever use of booth seating and an introduction of bamboo screens along the façade, allow light to permeate the building without it being intrusive.
