Ely CHQ, the second in the established and popular Ely wine bar venues is housed in the stunning Stack A building in the Dublin Docklands. A listed building recently refurbished it was important that we respected and complimented the historic fabric of the premises for this project. With a capacity of 400 over two floors and dock side alfresco dining, utilising the space and the finishes were critical to creating a worthy venue for our clients. Our aim was to compliment the protected structure with modern and elegant interventions while visibly emphasising the existing stone and brickwork, including extensive use of glass, Siberian tiger oak flooring, porcelain tiling and precast concrete as an alternative bar finish. The culmination of which is a sensitive yet individual restaurant / bar from John Duffy Design Group.
