A comprehensive upgrade was the brief from our client in order to to completely change the image and style of the hotel. Internally, the reception, hotel foyer and hotel bar were all opened up into an expansive free- flowing space, flooded with daylight from the full height glazing, with a polished jura marble floor reflecting the sumptuous surroundings. Fluted polished plaster pillars, which disappear through recesses in the ceiling, flank the approach to the minimalist but extensive ebony fronted reception desk. Our client says, “This development has proven that this existing Cork landmark was ready to face the challenges of the modern world, while maintaining the personality for which it has been renowned.”
