Set in the basement of the St. Stephens Green Shopping Centre off Dublin’s Grafton Street JDDG approached the project from the client’s intention to provide Dublin with its first unique New York Manhattan Cocktail and Bourbon Bar with an emphasis on not over themeing. An island bar takes centre stage as the customer descends the stairs from street level. The perimetre spaces feature raised areas of varying heights and each has its own definition and intimate spaces. The walls are finished with decorative mirrors which help reflect daylight and during the day remove the sense of being in a basement space. A feature cocktail bar is on one of the raised areas with the back wall dominated by mirror and bottle display. Leather button back upholstery finishes the front of the bar and when placed alongside the rich luxuriant colour scheme and fabrics Harry’s on the Green has become one of Dublin’s busiest and vibrant venues.
