We were commissioned by the London based wine merchants Berry Bros. & Rudd to work on the refurbishment of their first retail operation in Ireland. Key to the success of this project was the restoration of this listed building, originally a Weights and Measures building into a high end retail wine shop.
The building features a restored traditional facade, with a sympathetic interior fit out on three levels – for example the ground floor retail area refitted with 100 year old salvage floorboards; the basement area with vaulted wine storage bays is temperature controlled, and on the first floor a private area is dedicated to the art of wine tasting and wine education. A priority of the refurbishment has been the retention of many original features of architectural and aesthetic importance, including all fireplaces and the external warehouse doors.
