Newpark Hotel - Spa and Leisure Facility, Kilkenny City

As part of the complete phased upgrade of this existing well-established hotel, we designed a new two storey, Iroko clad gym & dance studio in addition to providing spa accommodation for the existing leisure centre. As well as a newly constructed access link from the main hotel, and reconstruction work to the reception and changing areas, a new health suite was constructed housing Spa treatment rooms, a hairdresser, and beauticians. Again clad in Iroko, accented with steel channel sections, this new development offers a more contemporary context to the hotel. Set in a woodland site, corner windows in the dance studio offered view, out over the hotel grounds. Detailed in a more contemporary style that the existing hotel these new extensions make a statement to the public that the hotel has moved with the changing times
