Maximising Light and Space within existing House in Blackrock

We would consider this project as a testament to client and architect dialogue, with extensive brief development and pre tender analysis resulting in a project that both John Duffy Design Group and our clients are very proud of. As a design company we are fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with Daniel & Therese who shared our passion for exploration of materials and good design.

In brief, the concept was to provide a modest extension to the rear which allowed us to maintain a reasonable rear garden. This enabled or clients to realise their ambition to achieve by modern landscaping a complementary backdrop to their open plan living areas. In order to create a better interplay between light and space we used contemporary architectural style and forms. The contemporary architectural form was then combined with sophisticated materials and a skilful management of the Kitchen, Dining, Living & Study areas enabling us to create a series of interrelating dynamic spaces.
