Oct 2010 The Bridge House Hotel, Tullamore, Co. Offaly

The Bridge House Hotel, Tullamore, Co. Offaly

The Bridge House Hotel, Tullamore, Co. Offaly welcomes back the ballroom, which has undergone a major transformation into a multi purpose ballroom with full conference facilities designed by John Duffy Design Group.

JDDG set out to create a space that both embodied sumptuous luxury for a wedding setting as well as a space that was both practical and flexible in which to hold meetings and conferences. Both settings needed to be a comfortable and relaxed environ.

JDDG’s design direction focused on drawing on classical design elements and contemporise them slightly, for instance the ribbed detailing to the side of the steps to the raised area echo classical column detailing. The colour scheme is a warm neutral palette that lends itself both a decadent luxuriant ballroom as well as a practical functinal comfortable room. The intention was to provid our client with maximum design added value by way of longevity of design, broad market appeal and ease of maintenance as well as a low energy lighting scheme.

Oct 2010 The Hotel Bedroom of Tomorrow Competition

The Hotel Bedroom of Tomorrow Competition

The Overall design criteria for this competition are that the proposed hotel rooms will be flexibility. The existing hotel room can be adjusted from single to double rooms. Our proposal is to allow the rooms to be single, double, and twin and can interconnect to create suites and family rooms and further adjusted to be used as meeting rooms without the need for removal of the beds or any substantial changes to the bathroom and storage facilities.
These Items together allow for a maximum flexibility for a hotel room to exist as a guest room, suite, family room and without any furniture being removed from the room it can be fully adjusted as a meeting room or a gallery of any size and can be back in place as guest accommodation for the next night.
